Getting started
Use Castify to move your videos, music, and photos onto a larger screen.
Connect your phone and TV or streaming device to the same Wi-Fi network so Castify can find your receiver.
Open Castify on Android or iPhone, tap the cast icon, and select your compatible TV or streaming device. Install a Castify TV receiver from the apps section if your setup requires one.
Browse to a web video in Castify or select media from your phone, then send it to your TV. Playback depends on the media format and your receiver’s capabilities.
The Castify family
Get Castify on Android or iPhone, or choose a TV receiver below. Our companion apps also offer screen recording, screen mirroring, and video playback.
A guide to the bigger screen
A phone is a convenient place to find something to watch. A TV gives you more room to enjoy it. Castify brings those two screens together, whether you are opening a web video or sharing media saved on your phone.
Finding a video on your phone often feels easier than typing with a TV remote. You can browse, follow a link, or choose a file where you already have it. Casting lets you start with that familiar phone experience and move the media to a compatible screen in your living room or bedroom.
Castify is available for Android and iPhone. Start by connecting your phone and receiver to the same Wi-Fi network, then choose a device in the app. If you are setting it up for the first time, follow the phone-to-TV instructions above before choosing your media.
When you find a video on a website, you may want to watch it on a larger display instead of staying on your phone. Open the website in Castify, start the video, and select a detected video for casting. This gives you a way to browse on your phone while choosing your TV as the playback destination.
Not every website provides a video that a receiver can play. Some services protect their streams or restrict playback to their own apps. If a video does not work, check whether the website offers its own supported TV app or casting option. The media format and the receiver also affect which videos can play.
Casting is useful for more than videos you find online. Family recordings, holiday photos, and music saved on your phone can also be worth sharing on a bigger screen. Instead of passing a small display around the room, choose local media in Castify and send it to a compatible receiver.
Give the app access to the photos or media you want to share when your phone requests it. A file being playable on your phone does not always mean your TV supports it: receivers differ in the video and audio formats they can decode. If one file fails while another works, the file format may explain the difference.
Your casting setup depends on what is connected to your TV. A Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, or Android TV device can act as the receiver, while compatible smart TVs may offer their own receiving capabilities. Select the device you actually want to use when Castify finds the available receivers on your network.
Some setups use a Castify TV receiver app. The Castify app collection includes links for Roku, Android TV, and Apple TV so you can find the receiver for your platform. Check compatibility for your device rather than assuming that every TV supports the same media formats or features.
If you want to watch a particular video or share a photo, media casting is a natural place to start. It sends selected content to the receiving device for playback. Screen mirroring serves a different purpose: it displays what is on your phone’s screen, which can be useful when you want to demonstrate an app or show several things in sequence.
Choose based on what you want the audience to see. For video, music, and photos, explore Castify. For sharing your Android screen, see Screen Mirror Max in our companion app collection. Device support and setup requirements can differ between casting and mirroring.
If your TV does not appear, first check the basics: the receiver should be awake and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone. A phone using mobile data or a TV connected to a separate guest network may not be able to discover the other device. Allow local network access when your phone asks for permission.
If your device appears but a video will not play, try another media file to help distinguish a connection issue from a format or website restriction. For further help, contact Castify support with your phone model, receiver model, and a description of what happens. You can also read the casting FAQs below.
Casting help
Castify supports Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, and compatible smart TVs. Features and supported media formats vary by receiver. See the TV receiver apps for your platform.
Yes. Download Castify for Android on Google Play or iPhone on the App Store. Connect your phone and receiver to the same Wi-Fi network to get started.
Castify lets you cast web videos and local media, including videos, music, and photos. The TV or streaming device must support the file format. Protected content and websites that restrict casting may not work.
Casting sends selected media to a receiver for playback. Screen mirroring displays your phone’s screen on another display. If you want to share your entire screen, explore Screen Mirror Max for Android.
Check that your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network and that your receiver is switched on. Allow local network access if your phone requests it. Guest networks can prevent devices from finding each other. If you still need help, contact Castify support with your phone and TV models.
