Updated August 8, 2026
This privacy policy governs your use of the software application Screen Mirror Max (“Application”) for mobile devices. The Application is a screen mirroring app.
Who we are
Data controller
Castify is the data controller for the personal information collected through the Application. You can reach the controller at support@castify.tv.
Data Protection Officer
Our Data Protection Officer is the Castify Privacy Team, reachable at support@castify.tv. Please write “DPO” in the subject line.
Information we collect
User-provided information
Information is used for app functionality, developer communications, and app diagnostics. The Application obtains information you provide when registering. Registration is optional, though some features may not be available unless you register.
When you register and use the Application, you may provide a username or email address, password, optional registration information, transaction-related information, information submitted when contacting us for help, and information entered while using the Application.
We may use the information you provide to contact you with important information and required notices.
Automatically collected information
The Application may automatically collect the type of mobile device you use, its unique device ID, IP address, mobile operating system, browser type, and information about how you use the Application.
In-app search history
The Application collects your in-app search history. This works in two ways:
- Stored on your device — your searches and the pages you open from them are saved in the Application’s local database so it can suggest them back to you later. If you are signed in to an account, this history is also synced to our servers so it is available on your other devices; see Account sync. You can erase it at any time by clearing your history in the Application or by uninstalling the Application.
- Sent to our servers — as you type, your search term is sent to our own autocomplete service so we can return suggestions. We use these terms only to return suggestions and to improve search quality. They are not sold, not shared with advertising partners, and not used to build an advertising profile of you.
Account sync
If you create an account and sign in, the Application syncs part of your library to our servers so it is available on your other devices. What is uploaded, and stored against your account identifier, is:
- your browsing history from the built-in browser (addresses and page titles, most recent 1,000 entries);
- your media play history and recently opened items;
- your bookmarks, playlists, IPTV lists, and podcast subscriptions.
This sync happens only while you are signed in. If you never create an account, this information stays on your device and is not sent to us. We use it only to provide the sync feature — it is not sold, not shared with advertising partners, and not used to target ads. Deleting your account through our Delete Account page removes this data from our servers, and you can clear the on-device copy at any time from within the Application.
Location information
The Application does not collect precise real-time information about the location of your mobile device.
The Application collects and sends personal information. The categories we collect are:
- Identifiers — username or email address, password, account ID, device ID, advertising ID, and IP address.
- Device and technical information — device model, mobile operating system, app version, browser type, language, and general (city or region level) location derived from your IP address.
- Usage and diagnostic data — features used, in-app actions, session length, crash reports, and performance logs.
- Commercial information — purchases and subscriptions made through the app store, including transaction identifiers. We never receive your full payment card details.
- Content you provide — messages you send us for support, and information you enter while using the Application.
- Advertising data — advertising identifiers and ad interaction data used to serve and measure ads.
- In-app search history — the search terms you type in the Application, and the pages you open from them. See below.
- Web browsing history — the addresses and titles of pages you visit in the Application’s built-in browser.
- Your library and activity — media you have played, recently opened items, bookmarks, playlists, IPTV lists, and podcast subscriptions.
We do not collect sensitive personal information such as government IDs, precise location, health data, or biometric data.
Access and disclosure
Aggregated, anonymized data may be transmitted to external services to help us improve the Application and our services. We may disclose user-provided and automatically collected information:
- As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process.
- When we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or safety, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
- To trusted service providers working on our behalf who have agreed to follow this privacy statement.
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, you will be notified of changes in ownership, uses of information, and available choices.
Legal basis for processing
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or LGPD applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to create and operate your account, deliver the features of the Application, and process purchases and subscriptions.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the Application secure, prevent fraud and abuse, fix crashes, and understand aggregate usage so we can improve the Application.
- Consent — for personalized advertising, optional analytics, and marketing messages. You may withdraw consent at any time, and doing so does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable law, such as tax, accounting, and lawful requests from authorities.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we collect, use, disclose, share, and sell, including the categories listed above and the categories of recipients.
- Know whether we sell your personal information, and to whom. See Do not sell or share.
- Know whether we share your personal information with third parties, including sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising as “share” is defined under California law. See Do not sell or share.
- Opt out of the sale of your personal information, of sharing for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, and of profiling with legal or similarly significant effects.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete your personal information.
- Obtain a portable copy of the personal information you provided to us.
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
- Appeal a decision we make about your request, by replying to our response.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@castify.tv or use our Delete Account page. We respond within 45 days. You may also opt out simply by uninstalling the Application using your device’s standard uninstall process; existing information then begins the removal process and is retained no longer than 30 days.
Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe we have handled your personal information unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. In the EU this is the authority in your country of residence, work, or the place of the alleged infringement (a list is published by the European Data Protection Board); in the UK it is the Information Commissioner’s Office; in Brazil it is the ANPD; in California it is the California Privacy Protection Agency or the state Attorney General. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first at support@castify.tv.
Do not sell or share my personal information
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of anyone under 16.
However, the Application shows ads through third-party advertising partners, and those partners receive your advertising identifier, IP address, and ad interaction data in order to serve and measure personalized ads. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar laws such as the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), this may be treated as a “sale” or a “share” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We want to be clear about that rather than rely on a narrow definition.
How to opt out
You can stop this at any time in any of these ways:
- In the Application — open the About or Settings screen and use the ad consent / personalized ads option to turn personalized ads off. Ads may still appear, but they will not be personalized.
- On your device — on Android, open Settings → Google → Ads and delete or reset your advertising ID; on iOS, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and turn off tracking for the Application.
- By email — write to support@castify.tv with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”. You do not need an account to make this request, and an authorized agent may make it on your behalf.
Targeted advertising: the steps above also opt you out of targeted advertising. Profiling: we do not use your personal information for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, so there is nothing to opt out of; if that ever changes, we will describe the opt-out here before starting. If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or Brazil, we ask for your consent before serving personalized ads, and you can withdraw it using the in-app privacy option at any time.
Regional privacy regulations
GDPR — General Data Protection Regulation
The European Union sets rules for how companies collect, use, and store EU citizens’ personal data. This privacy policy conforms to GDPR standards.
LGPD — Brazil General Data Protection Law
Brazil sets rules for how companies collect, use, and store Brazilian citizens’ personal data. This privacy policy conforms to LGPD standards.
CCPA — California Consumer Privacy Act
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell, and share (including sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, as “share” is defined under California law); the right to opt out of that sale and sharing; and the rights to correct, delete, and receive a copy of their personal information, without being discriminated against for asking. The categories we collect are listed under Information we collect, our sale and sharing practices and the ways to opt out are described under Do not sell or share, and you can submit a request by emailing support@castify.tv or using our Delete Account page.
VCDPA — Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act
Virginia residents have the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. We do not sell personal data for money and we do not carry out such profiling; we do share advertising identifiers with ad partners for targeted advertising. See Do not sell or share for the exact steps to opt out. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and you may contact the Virginia Attorney General if the appeal is denied.
Sharing and deletion
Third parties
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do disclose it to the service providers and partners that make the Application work:
- Google AdMob — advertising identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data, to serve and measure ads. This may count as a “sale” or “share” under California and Virginia law; see Do not sell or share.
- Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) — device, usage, and crash data, to diagnose problems and understand aggregate usage.
- Google Play and Apple App Store billing — purchase and subscription data, to process transactions. We never receive your full payment card details.
- Our own hosting and support providers — account and support data, so we can operate the service and answer your messages.
These partners are bound to use the data only for the purposes we specify, except where their own processing for advertising is described above.
Deletion rights
You may request deletion of any collected data at any time through our Delete Account page.
Children
We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 13. A parent or guardian who becomes aware that a child provided information without consent should contact support@castify.tv. We will delete such information within a reasonable time.
Security
We care about safeguarding your information and provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards for information we process and maintain. Access is limited to authorized employees and contractors who need it to operate, develop, or improve the Application. Although we work to provide reasonable security, no security system can prevent every potential breach.
Changes and your consent
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you by posting the new policy here and informing you via email or text message. You should review this policy regularly; continued use is deemed approval of changes.
Your consent
By using the Application, you consent to our processing of information as described in this policy. Processing includes collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining, and disclosing information in the United States. If you reside outside the United States, your information will be transferred, processed, and stored there under United States privacy standards.
